Digging Around Utilities

Accidentally striking an underground utility such as gas, water, cable, phone lines, fiber optics, and electrical can be deadly. At a minimum, it can cost your company thousands of dollars in delays and repair costs. There is no "depth requirement" and removing even one shovel-full can put you at risk.

Temporary Heat Safety

Temporary heating devices are a vital part of being able to work effectively in cold weather. They allow temperature-critical work to continue on schedule and provide for more comfortable working conditions. However, poor selection and careless use of portable heaters can lead to burns, fires, explosion, carbon monoxide poisoning, and the creation of oxygen deficient atmospheres.

Cell Tower Exposure

We are around radiation all the time. The sun's warmth and light is a form of radiation. Cell tower antennas are being installed everywhere ‐ just look around at building tops. Ten years ago there were only 60 million cell phones; today, there are more than 280 million. Tradespeople working on rooftops must take precautions to reduce exposure to non‐ionizing radiation.
